Racor CCV12001-08L is genuine a closed crankcase ventilation (CCV) filter system for diesel engines up to 2,000 HP. It removes oil mist and contaminants from crankcase blow-by gases before they're sent back to the turbocharger inlet. This protects turbochargers and aftercoolers from oil buildup and helps engines meet emissions requirements.

This is the non-bypass version with a left-hand inlet and a high-density filter element.

Fitment Notes

This is the left-hand inlet version. If your installation needs the inlet on the right side, order the CCV12001-08R. For a bypass version, see the CCV12000-08L (left) or CCV12000-08R (right).

To size a CCV system, divide the engine's rated horsepower by 40 to estimate crankcase flow in CFM. Crankcase flow goes up as an engine wears, so leave extra capacity for older engines. Allow at least 11 in. of clearance below the unit for changing the element.

Application

In a closed system, the filtered crankcase gases are sent to the intake side of the turbocharger instead of vented to the atmosphere. A built-in regulator controls crankcase vacuum so the engine runs correctly. The oil that's filtered out drains back to the oil pan through the check valve and drain hose. Stainless steel latches let you change the element without tools.

Filter replacement is the only routine maintenance. Change the element at the engine manufacturer's recommended interval.

Replacement Elements

  • CCV55222-12-08: High density (standard element for this assembly)

  • CCV55222-12-10: Ultra density, for higher efficiency on older engines
